Blogs don’t have to be just for sharing ideas. In fact, you can turn your WordPress blog into a fully functioning e-commerce shop, and still maintain your blog, all from the same place. Hi Jamie, the article is very helpful. I have a question though…I searched several niches on Google Trends. they all show between 75 to 100 searches. That makes it difficult for me to choose. I blog about many things within the lifestyle category. Do I really need to pick a niche? My goal is to be a social media influencer. I’m a practising artist though.

I want to start a blog, but I can’t pay for a domain, so I thought I would use tumblr. Now I love tumblr, but I don’t think that is the best option for a blog cause the url will be myblog.tumblr.com and it just dosen’t look strong enough. So any suggestions?

Absolutely! It’s a great niche to get into. You can review cooking equipment and link it to your Amazon associate account, where you can earn commission from your blog posts. I’d probably keep the site in English as you’ll earn a lot more money targeting the US than France.
Hey Ramsay, an excellent post! While I’ve created numerous WordPress websites, none of them have really stood the test of time. Mainly because I haven’t been passionate about any of them. My goal was to make money with them, and that’s not good enough!

Something that I think I figured out. I didn’t want my posts on my FaceBook Blog page to show up on my FaceBook personal page. At first they did and then I realized it was because I “Liked” my Blog page and that linked them. So, I “unliked” and that fixed it. At least I hope so…..

While you need decent traffic to do a direct deal with an advertisers there are ad networks (like Google AdSense) that act as a middleman and enable smaller publishers to run ads on their blogs. This is where many bloggers start (I did too).
Differentiating yourself from all the others is no simple task. I suppose one way, is to simply be yourself…as we’re all unique….but we still need to be engaging. I’ve come across plenty of people who are unique, but can put you to sleep in a couple of short sentences…
