Facebook, little bit of Pinterest. I have done a couple of guest post (I think 5 or 6 so far). Bookmarked it with Stumbleupon and Filipboard. That’s more or less all, since I don’t want to have too many social accounts that I have to update. I need time to write content. What should I focus on?

Creating a Facebook fan page for your blog can be anxiety-inducing, especially if you’re trying to keep your real identity separate from your blogging identity. However, it doesn’t have to be complicated – once you see how easy it is, you’ll wonder why you waited so long.
This is great information. I’m wondering if you can help me – I created a fan page (category: website/blog) separate from my personal Facebook profile page. Now I want to link the two, but the only instructions I can find are for linking business/work fan pages to personal profiles. How can I link my website/blog fan page to my personal Facebook page?
The main thing is to start, that is the hardest step – don’t be nervous – practise makes perfect your first posts probably won’t be your greatest but only by regularly writing and promoting your blog will you grow your audience and become a better blogger.
One of the most frustrating things for me since I began blogging was getting more engagement on my blog posts. When I first started I went from nothing to around 200,000 on Alexa in about 3 to 6 months. After that, I had a long hiatus of no content and flew back up past 10,000,000.
One suggestion for future consideration. Perhaps a detailed post on design of your blog and psychology of a modern-day blog visitor. Items like sidebars, headers, footers and most importantly, the actual body of the blog post. It will help the new bloggers to optimise their design and be more reader-friendly in their offer.

You see, when you first start a blog you have to do a lot of groundwork that takes time. Research, pillar articles, networking, logo creation, social media accounts set up, etc. It is a very time consuming process.
WordPress was built to be a blogging platform and will always be a blogging platform. It does it well and perfect for blog only sites. However, once you start incorporating other functionality into your site such as membership based concepts, e-commerce, basically more complex website structure and content, my choice would go to Joomla! hands down. I’ve got over 10 years of Joomla experience and 7 for WP, so it’s a bit easier for me to make that statement.

Some things just don’t work out over here – ebooks no one buys them, mailing lists, no one joins them and very few people are willing to pay you to teach them anything. Hopefully, over time I will find the right formula to bissect this difficult market.

You can use your own domain name on a platform such as Tumblr for free but as you are on their platform you will be restricted to the types of content you can produce, the types of advertisements you can host and it is difficult to move to a self hosted WordPress environment later down the line.
