Blogger is Google’s free tool for creating blogs. It includes site hosting and built-in analytics so you can measure the performance of your blog and make improvements as needed. It comes with a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor for making easy changes to your blog, the ability to upload images, and it comes with several templates for design purposes.
As I mentioned earlier if you looking at offering consulting or training services then it might be worth packaging your materials together into an online course. When I first made a blog, I used Tumblr then blogger and now WordPress. For those who want to start their own blog or website but no budget they may use some free platforms like Blogger and Tumblr. really great article, thanks Jon. I particularly like #1 – it’s the mindset shift that we all need to step up and “play” at the level to generate substantial revenue. Reversing the sales funnel is also very smart and makes a lot of sense. It’s easier to make one $3,000 sale than making 300 $10 sale – although putting a $10 product out there is less scary than selling a $3000 service – again, it’s all about the mindset.
If WordPress isn’t there for some reason, scroll down a little bit on the control panel and click on “Quick Install” under the Software & Services section. Look at the top of the page, in the left sidebar section for WordPress.
So….why would someone accept me as a guest blogger? I have no blog where I’ve written similar content on my own platform, and because we’re not focusing on Twitter, Facebook and Google+, I have no social proof of any kind.
I am not so knowledgeable on blogging, having started my first blog last year. I however think that keywords are an important part of your blog. In fact, I made my own 10 commandments on blogging. The first one reads. “Though shall never start a blog post without a keyword in mind.”

Second, it keeps your site on Google’s good side. That’s important too. Why? As of late 2017, Google may alert people when a site is insecure. No site owner wants a visitor to get a big fat warning that their site is insecure!

WHA??? I cannot believe how many of you are afraid to vlog! I am creating a conference next year that is centered around new media (vlogging included) and working with brands. I had better see you all there to learn about the importance of this social media tool! LOL
This is another one of those tips that have been around for a while but become more and more relevant with every passing year. If you start a blog in 2018 you should expect your income streams to change. That can be a really scary thing if you aren’t prepared.
Here’s my suggestion: Before you start a blog, make sure you have some ideas what to write about. If you don’t have any – think about your hobbies or things you’re passionate about. This helped me to find my niche/topic for my blog.
Know what you want. When you’re interviewing somebody for your site, always enter the interview knowing what story you want them to tell. Have a Skype chat or email exchange with them, before they’re in front of a camera. Do your due diligence: ask what they’re working on, and what interesting opinions they have, and agree in advance what you’ll ask them. During the interview is NOT when you should be deciding what questions to ask.
Vision. The reason our site design looks good is because we have a great host, we have a great theme, and most important, we had a vision of how we wanted our blog to look. Once we had the vision, we worked hard to make that vision a reality. (Note: neither of us had any design experience prior to starting a blog.) It’s hard to create a beautiful blog if you don’t know what you want it to look like.
By now you should have fully working WordPress blog on your own domain name. You should also have a custom blog theme that fits with your blog’s topic. Congratulations – you’ve done a LOT and I’m proud that you’ve managed to get so far.
I’m not sure I’m understanding your question. You can create a Facebook fan page from your personal FB account without linking it to your blog page in any way. I was anonymous when I did my first Facebook fan page, so that was a big concern for me.
In the case of my blog, about 99% of my early readers would come, read a single article, and then leave forever. So instead of missing out on a potential regular, I started gathering email addresses using a service called Awebber, but these days I prefer GetResponse.
Publish Consistently. Teach web crawlers to come back to your site on a regular basis and improve your rankings over time by publishing regular content for site visitors to enjoy. After all, the point of having a blog is to build a bigger following. Ranking higher in search results will help, and becoming a source to rely on for consistent content helps as well.
Incorporating keywords into your domain name can help brand a blog — like Blogging.com! Keywords are individual words or phrases that are closely related to your niche. Think about the words that people might use to search for your content, and bear them in mind when choosing a domain name to register.
